DHHS Anti-Trafficking web site and hotline
The U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched this web site to create more awareness on the issue of human trafficking as well as to provide resources for victims of trafficking. The site contains referrals to national and local resources for victims, fact sheets about trafficking and tool kits for various service providers. A toll-free number (888-373-7888) run by the Covenant House, sponsored by HHS in collaboration with the Dept of Justice, allows victims of trafficking to be instantly referred to a pre-screened aid organization in the victim's area. Calling this hotline will not trigger Dept of Justice or law enforcement action.
