Kick Start Your Advocacy Skills! Join us to explore how we think about advocacy, and to practice our skills. Kick Start Your Advocacy Skills includes online learning components, in-person training, and opportunities to connect beyond the training. The one-day, in-person advocacy training will take place in Madison on Wednesday, September 24, and will be facilitated by End Abuse staff Danny Ho, Sara Krall, and Colleen Cox.
Where: The Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa St in Madison, WI 53704
When: Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Registration Deadline: Thursday, September 18, 2014 (Space is limited, so register early! Registration will be closed early if capacity is reached before the deadline.)
Cost: $25. The preferred method of payment is by credit card at the point of registration. Refunds will be issued, minus $10 for administrative fees, for cancellations received in writing by September 18, 2014.

Online Learning: Three weeks before the in-person training, registrants will receive a list of required & recommended educational components to complete before September 24.
Lodging & Meals: Morning coffee and lunch will be provided. For those who need lodging, a block of rooms is reserved at the Howard Johnson Madison, 3841 E Washington Ave in Madison, WI 53704. (Rooms are $70/night for a single or double occupancy room.
To reserve a room, call 608-244-2481 from August 4 to September 12 and ask for a room from the End Abuse block.) Guests must bring a copy of a tax exempt certificate with them at check-in to avoid paying room taxes. Free breakfast is included with lodging.
Who Should Attend: This training is designed for new advocates, although anyone is welcome to attend.
