COMMUNITY RESOURCE ADVOCATE – SAFE EXCHANGE

Part Time (20 hours/weekly)

 

Sojourner Family Peace Center is seeking an experienced professional to work as a part time Community Resource Advocate, specializing in advocacy for victims at Milwaukee’s new Safe Exchange and Supervised Visitation Center.  This position will provide assistance to victims of domestic violence from diverse backgrounds and will assess client’s individual situations and refer to internal resources as well as community resources. The Community Resource Advocate – Safe Exchange will assist in developing safety plans and accompany clients to legal proceedings as necessary, and perform community education as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social work, criminal justice, communication, human resources or relevant field; minimum two years professional experience in advocacy, case management, human resources or related field; or a combination of education, experience and work in the community. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the domestic violence victim advocacy service system through direct work experience preferred. Bilingual preferred.
