Full-Time
The Director of Development, under the direction of the Executive Director, will work closely with the board to maximize the agency financial resource development programs and to ensure that they are consistent with the future direction of the agency. This position will create strategies and implement best practices to build on the agency’s current development programs to foster support in the form of major, capital and planned gifts. This position will also manage the Development and Public Relations staff, oversee agency marketing and public relations materials, and public and private grants.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a job related major and five to seven years of related professional experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience. Requires at least three years major gifts and/or capital campaign experience. Must have demonstrated success in meeting annual fundraising and capital campaign goals and significant track-record of developing and implementing strategies for growth, closing gifts and managing relationships. Familiarity with range of development strategies to secure individual, foundation and corporate annual and capital gifts required.
Individual must have excellent leadership, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, have the ability to work as part of a team and independently, and have the ability to adapt and flexible. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and have strong ability to prioritize, with ability to plan and manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment.
