This year, we welcome featured presenter Juana Bordas, author of Salsa, Soul, and Spirit: The Power of Diversity, and President of Mestiza Leadership International--a company that focuses on leadership, diversity, and organizational change. Directors of Wisconsin tribal and non-tribal domestic violence and dual programs are invited to attend this semiannual meeting to share and learn from each other. WCADV co-sponsors the meeting with American Indians Against Abuse and the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault.
Core Advocacy is a two-day training that addresses advocacy as a philosophical approach and a set of skills and activities that flows from that philosophy. We will explore concrete ways for advocates to connect with/support survivors, and navigate systems survivors often access. Restraining Order Training is a one-day interactive training that is highly recommended for any advocate who will assist individuals to obtain restraining orders.
