DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services)
The LEAP Crisis Response Advocate works with the Law Enforcement Advocate Partnership (LEAP) to conduct proactive outreach to victims of domestic violence who have had recent contact with law enforcement in order to connect them to the support services provided by DAIS. The LEAP Crisis Response Advocate position has two main components: providing direct services to victims of domestic violence and creating and maintaining law enforcement partnerships. The direct service responsibilities include providing services to domestic violence victims through providing support, assistance with safety planning, basic legal advocacy, and referrals to community resources. The partnership responsibilities include the development and implementation of the LEAP program with law enforcement partners, including program development and management, police officer training on LEAP protocols, and program evaluation.
A successful candidate will have experience in community partnership development as well as experience working with victims of trauma. Previous collaboration with law enforcement partners is a plus. The successful candidate will have a four-year college or university degree. Experience in the field may be substituted for the academic degree.
