SUPERVISOR OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL ADVOCACY PROGRAMS
The Supervisor of Criminal and Civil Advocacy Programs will work as part of the Sojourner Family Peace Center management team and provide the direct supervision of advocates within the Courthouse Advocacy Program and the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocates Program, ensuring all advocates are fulfilling the agency’s mission within these programs, operating within the programs’ budget limitations, and in compliance with agency policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for the effective operation of these agency programs and ensuring clients’ needs are met, including but not limited to, restraining orders, support throughout the criminal and court systems, and referrals to internal and external resources. Additional responsibilities include the compilation of monthly data and statistics as well as providing trainings and presentations as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social work, criminal justice, communication, human resources or relevant field. One to two years related professional experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience. Requires knowledge of statutory framework for domestic abuse, harassment and child abuse injunctions, and knowledge of and experience with legal system, including prior work with victims, police, prosecutors, court commissioners and judges. Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required. Must have transportation and a valid driver’s license. Bilingual, Spanish speaking preferred.
